Water Assist Injection Molding (WAIM) is generating interest for all the right reasons. Compared to Gas-Assist Injection Molding, it has 50% faster cooling cycle; up to 25% thinner, uniform walls; larger hollow parts. This course tells you how Water-Assist compares with Gas-Assist, its equipment requirements, process variants, and material considerations. Can earlier claims about the advantages of WAIM be substantiated? We’ll share with you results of testing from BASF Engineering Plastics’ Advanced Process Technology Laboratory.
